In a powerful blend of music and philanthropy, the third annual You Got Gold: Celebrating the Songs of John Prine raised $300,000+ for disaster relief following Hurricane Helene. Organized by the Prine Family in partnership with the Hello In There Foundation, the four-day event brought together an all-star lineup of artists and hundreds of fans to honor John Prine while supporting communities in crisis.

Held October 9–12, the multi-venue celebration featured concerts at iconic Nashville locations including the Ryman Auditorium, The Basement East, and the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The event took place around what would have been Prine’s 78th birthday.

Musical legends Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Patti Griffin, and SG Goodman headlined the opening night at the Ryman. The Basement East show on Prine’s birthday included tribute performances from Jesse Welles, Gabe Lee, and Kaitlin Butts, while the finale at the CMA Theater delivered a star-studded lineup with Elizabeth Cook, Amanda Shires, Billy Ray Cyrus, Buddy Miller, Shawn Colvin, and Kathy Mattea.

“We are continually floored by the generosity of John’s fans,” said Fiona Prine, John’s widow and co-founder of the Hello In There Foundation. “For the past three years, this community has gathered to celebrate John’s music and legacy—and this year was no different. We are so fortunate to be able to help so many people in need through the great work of the foundation.”

All net proceeds from You Got Gold, including ticket and merchandise sales as well as individual donations, will be directed to disaster relief efforts. A portion will go to individuals and families directly affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton—particularly low-income families and hospitality workers in Gulfport, Florida, where the Prine family has long maintained a home. Additional grants will be distributed to grassroots organizations in hard-hit regions of East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and the Gulf Coast.

The Hello In There Foundation, founded in 2021 to carry on Prine’s legacy of compassion, distributed over $1 million in charitable giving by the end of 2024. Previous You Got Gold concerts have supported causes ranging from veterans' homelessness to immigrant and refugee rights.
